What should I look for in a pet sitting provider?
Don’t settle for part timer’s or the kid next door. Look for a full time, professional service with a mature staff. They should be insured and bonded, experienced with pets, and a member of a professional organization for pet care professionals. All Niagara Pet Sitting has all of these attributes.

What about my keys? How do you get in?
We ask that you give us a copy of your key. We’ll keep in a safe location. Or you can use a lock box if that is better for you. If you do not provide a key it is not convenient for you or us and we’ll likely have to charge a key exchange fee.

What is your payment policy?
Payment must be made at the start of service.

Where do you do the pet sitting?
Right in your home. This is the best alternative for your pet and convenient for you. You don’t have to drive anywhere at the start or end of a trip.

Why don’t you board the pets?
Many veterinarians and pet professionals state that keeping pets in their familiar surroundings helps to alleviate the stress imposed on them when you have to leave home. Your pets are able to maintain their diet and exercise routine, and enjoy the personal attention provided by a pet sitter. You also eliminate the trauma of being transported and minimize their exposure to illnesses of other animals.

Please remember that All Niagara Pet Sitting is insured and bonded.

Why choose Pet Sitting over a kennel?
Pet sitting offers a higher level of care for your pet. The pet gets plenty of one to one attention while staying in the comforts of your home. And the pet is not exposed to fleas, disease or the stress of being in a cage. Not only that, but your house is tended to and there is no need to drop off or pick up your pet at the start and end of your trip.

Why use a dog walking service?
A dog walker gives your pet the companionship, exercise and attention it needs for good health and good behaviour. We’ll stop in and make sure your pets have the food and water they need and that they get some exercise to burn off any excess energy they might otherwise use in a negative way. You benefit by coming home to happy, healthy pets and can be guilt free if you don’t have time to go for a walk.

Why is walking the dog so important?
Like us, your dog’s needs to be kept physically and mentally active to be healthy and happy. Daily walks provides physical and mental benefits to your dog. Many people believe that all a dog needs is a big yard to run around in. But most dogs still need a good walk to get the right amount of exercise. And the companionship helps too. A dog that is walked at least once a day will have less behaviour problems. Two walks a day help even more.

As dogs age they are less inclined to exercise on their own, a walk encourages this and helps them stay healthy longer.

My pet has been aggressive in the past - can it still be a client?
This is decided on a case by case basis. Most likely the decision will be made at the Meet & Greet. If at any time we feel that it is unsafe to perform a service, we will reserve the right to discontinue service.

Before we accept any bookings we will carry out a free meet & greet (pet consultation). This gives you an opportunity to meet All Niagara Pet Sitting and us to meet you and your pets. This will allow us to provide the highest level of care in your absence. You can help us by filling in the client intake form. We need to know as much as possible about your pet so we can offer the best care possible.

Why should I use a Pet sitter instead of a neighbour or friend?
All Niagara Pet Sitting provides professional, insured, reliable care with no feeling of inconveniencing anyone. Having a friend, neighbour or relative look after your home and possessions may seem convenient, but consider the additional stresses involved (e.g. feeling of being taken for granted? And the person might have to rearrange their schedule or the pets schedule might have to change. The friend or neighbour might not have the skills to look after your pet and they probably do not have back up arrangements if they cannot attend.
